Estimator / Supervisor


Support project delivery through accurate estimating, tender preparation, and on-site supervision across building and maintenance works.

The Opportunity

A State Government Department is seeking an experienced Estimator / Supervisor to join their team on a temporary basis. This role has been created to support a high volume of project activity, including a significant backlog of estimates and ongoing pipeline of works across education and regional programs.

In this role, you will combine your technical estimating expertise with hands-on project supervision, supporting the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade works. You will work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are accurately scoped, costed, and delivered safely and efficiently.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing accurate and timely estimates, quotations, and tender documentation for building projects
  • Developing material lists, trade packages, and construction programs
  • Supporting the supervision and delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade works
  • Coordinating condition assessments, including inspections of building elements and materials
  • Undertaking site inspections, tenancy management services, and maintenance referrals
  • Managing and supporting subcontractors, field staff, and project teams
  • Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements and Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Conducting WHS audits and on-site inspections, including plant and equipment checks
  • Ensuring all project documentation includes appropriate risk assessments and safe work method statements
  • Supporting incident prevention through proactive safety practices and staff awareness
  • Promoting services to clients and identifying opportunities for additional project work
  • Supporting the delivery of projects within agreed timeframes, budgets, and quality standards

About You

You are a technically skilled and proactive professional with experience in estimating and construction supervision, who thrives in a fast-paced and project-driven environment.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in construction estimating, tender preparation, or project supervision
  • Strong knowledge of building construction and maintenance practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements and risk management
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and documentation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Construction-related trade qualification (highly regarded)
  • Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card (White Card)
